Search your favourite dictionary and save new words to your WordLearner account!


Searching for and saving new words

You can search for and save new words in 3 easy steps:

1. Search
Search your dictionary for a translation, definition or example sentence.

2. Add
Add the word, translation, definition and/or example sentence to the toolbar (see 'Adding text to the toolbar').

3. Send
Send all the information to your WordLearner account by pressing 'Send'.


Adding text to the toolbar

You can add text to the toolbar text boxes in 4 different ways:

1. Right-click
Select text on a web page, right-click and choose from one of the following options:
'Add Word to toolbar'
'Add Definition to toolbar'
'Add Translation to toolbar'
'Add as an Example Sentence'
'Search My Dictionary'
(this option will search your dictionary and add the text to the 'Word' box on the toolbar)

2. Drag & Drop
Select text on a webpage and drag & drop it into the text boxes on the toolbar.

3. Copy & Paste
Select text on a webpage and copy & paste it into the text boxes on the toolbar.

4. Direct
Type the text directly into the text boxes on the toolbar.


Changing My Dictionary settings

You can change your dictionary in 2 ways:

Use My Dictionary settings from the website
Choose a dictionary to search. on the My Dictionary Settings area of the website.
Click on the 'Change My Dictionary' settings button on the toolbar (right of the 'Search' button).
Press the 'Refresh' button to make sure that your most recent website settings are available.
Press OK.

Use one of the available dictionaries in the list
Click on the 'Change My Dictionary' settings button on the toolbar (right of the 'Search' button).
Press the 'Refresh List' button to make sure that the most recent list is available.
Choose one of the dictionaries that are available from the list.
Press OK.


Uninstalling the toolbar
Internet Explorer Version
Click on the Windows Start button > Settings > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs
Find the 'WordLearner Toolbar' in the list of installed programs and then click 'Remove'

Mozilla Firefox Version
In Firefox, click on Tools > Add-ons and then find the 'WordLearner Toolbar' in the list and click 'Uninstall'
Then restart Firefox.
